About
Hello, I’m Catina.
As an artist, published author, and illustrator, my passion for art and literature has been a lifelong journey, sparked by some of my earliest memories. Growing up in a small, rural town in Georgia, I found joy and inspiration in the world around me. From the serene beauty of landscapes and the delicate charm of trees, flowers, and birds, nature has always been my sanctuary. It’s within these natural scenes, shaped by the ever changing seasons, that I find peace and inspiration, and I am continually drawn to the countryside, where my creativity flourishes.
My personal connection to autism, having both children and grandchildren on the spectrum, as well as being a late diagnosed autistic person at the age of 47, has given me a new lens through which to view the world. This experience has profoundly influenced my art and life. My diagnosis explained many of the challenges I faced growing up, while also bringing a renewed sense of hope. Through this journey, I’ve come to see autism not as a limitation but as a unique perspective filled with beauty.
My mission is to raise awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), illustrating that it is not a diagnosis of despair, but one of possibility, hope, and creativity. Our world is enriched by the extraordinary minds and talents within the ASD community. Through my art, whether on canvas, paper, or within the pages of my books, my hope is to inspire a sense of peace and hope in those who experience it. I am deeply grateful for your support and for joining me on this creative journey. I hope my work brings you the same joy and serenity that it brings me.
